Association Report

Provided by: Nicole Mackellar, Director of Member Services and Business Development

The Association Department focused on strengthening engagement, visibility and long-term value for OSCIA members throughout the year. A key priority was improving how we communicate with members by enhancing the clarity, consistency and accessibility of our messaging. Grassroots Matters and The Innovator were refreshed with a new look and feel, creating a more modern, engaging experience while maintaining their role as trusted sources of information. In addition, brief Board Highlights were reintroduced to provide local and regional associations with timely insights into governance decisions and strategic discussions, helping to strengthen transparency and connection between the Board and local associations.

Another major area of focus was the increased promotion of OSCIA-related events. New social media campaign strategies were developed and implemented to better highlight workshops, meetings and key sector events. These efforts helped expand our reach, improve awareness and encourage greater participation from members across the province. By using more targeted and consistent messaging, OSCIA was able to better showcase the value of its programming and the breadth of opportunities available to members.

The Association Department also hosted the summer meeting, which saw strong attendance and provided members with valuable opportunities to connect with peers and industry experts. The event featured on-farm applied research highlights, giving participants firsthand insights into innovative practices and real-world applications. Feedback from attendees emphasized the importance of these gatherings in fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge and strengthening the OSCIA community.

Together, these initiatives reflect OSCIA’s ongoing commitment to evolving alongside its membership and ensuring the organization remains responsive, relevant, and member focused.
